Lactic Acid is an organic compound with the formula CH3CH(OH)CO2H. In its solid state, it is white and water-soluble. In its liquid state, it is clear. It is produced both naturally and synthetically.
Lactic acid is found primarily in sour milk products, such as koumiss, laban, yogurt, kefir, some cottage cheeses, and kombucha. The casein in fermented milk is coagulated (curdled) by lactic acid. Lactic acid is also responsible for the sour flavor of sourdough breads.

Applications of lactic acid:
1. Food industry. Mainly used for food, beverage as sour agent and taste regulator,

3. The cosmetics industry: can nourish skin, keep wet agent, update, PH regulator, acne, to ChiGou agent,4. It is used to process fibers in the textile industry, which can make fibers easy to color, increase luster, and make them soft to the touch;
5. It is used as pH regulator and synthetic agent in the paint and ink industry; in the plastic fiber industry, it is the
preferred raw material for the new degradable polylactic acid PLA;
6. Lactic acid can also be used as the starting material of polylactic acid to produce a new generation of fully biodegradable plastics;
7. In the tanning industry, lactic acid can remove the lime and calcium in the leather, making the leather soft and fine, so as to make high-grade leather;
